Still Research Institute hosts annual research symposium
Posted: November 8, 2013A.T. Still University held its annual Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research Symposium (IBRS) on Nov. 2, 2013.
The IBRS gives students, residents, faculty, and regional researchers the opportunity to present their current research activities and promotes collaboration with the Institute. The IBRS consists of oral presentations, poster presentations, and a keynote address. In honor of the 5th anniversary of the IBRS, the keynote address was open to the general public and focused on an important emerging area in healthcare.
Keynote speakers from Washington University and Michigan State University shed light on perspectives on genetic testing and interventions from the viewpoints of the patient, family, career genomic researcher, and physician specialist in genetics. The presentation was titled “The Impact of Genomics and Genetic Testing on Our Healthcare.”
This event is hosted by the Still Research Institute, who presented the following awards for Outstanding Research Posters.
- Nick Musso, $200 – Overall
- Jessica Lapinski – $100
- Joshua Moody – $100
- Paul AJ Baillargeon -$100
- Sigma Xi also awarded $200 to Nelson Ugwu for the best Research Poster presented by an undergraduate.
