Lockdown emergency drill to be held on Mesa campus

There will be an all-campus lockdown at the Mesa campus on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 9:00 a.m. This drill should take approximately five minutes or less to conduct. Campus buildings (5850, 5845, and 5835) will be participating in the drill. Dental and orthodontics staff will notify patients of the five-minute drill. Anyone working with patients will continue to do so during this drill. Again continue patient treatment during this drill.

Emergency drills are conducted to prepare our campus in the event of a lockdown situation.

“In conjunction with the lockdown drill, all faculty, staff and students are encouraged to sign up for the Emergency Text Message alert so that you can be notified in the event of a campus emergency,” said Dan Panico, ATSU safety coordinator, Mesa campus. In the event of an emergency on the Arizona campus, a text message will be sent to your cell phone notifying you of the emergency, your immediate action, and where to find additional information.”

To sign up to receive emergency notification text messages, go to http://www.atsu.edu/911optin/optin.asp. Fill in your cell phone number, name, and email, then press submit.
