2013 ASDOH alumni weekend celebrated
Posted: February 21, 2013A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) alumni weekend was held on the Mesa, Ariz. campus February 15-16. Events included providing dental care to pre-screened children from Mesa and Apache Junction schools at Give Kids a Smile®, an ATSU-ASDOH alumni reception honoring the class of 2008, and a continuing education session.
Timothy Oh, DMD, ’08, chair, ATSU-ASDOH Alumni Chapter Board; Craig Phelps, DO, FAOASM, president, A.T. Still University; and Jack Dillenberg, DDS, MPH, inaugural dean, ATSU-ASDOH, addressed attendees at the reception. The following is a recap of the updates highlighted at the event:
- The ATSU-ASDOH site was the largest Give Kids a Smile site in the state, with alumni, students, and faculty coming together to provide 364 children with the dental care they needed. If you are interested in supporting continuing care for these children and others, please contribute to the Smile Forward fund.
- The ATSU Board of Trustees was in attendance following their quarterly meeting. In October, they approved the construction of the Advanced Care Clinic in The Center for Advanced Oral Health Education, which will provide care for individuals with complicated oral health needs or medically-complex conditions.
- Many thanks were given to alumni for their help in building and maintaining ATSU-ASDOH’s status as a premier dental school.
- The next ATSU-ASDOH alumni reception will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2 in New Orleans, in conjunction with the American Dental Association annual session (registration for the annual session is not required). More details will be coming soon!
