Spring 2019 ETDC update

This month marks the one-year anniversary of our joint Qualtrics roll-out with the Teaching & Learning Center. We are thrilled to welcome all our new Qualtrics users and look forward to hearing how you have been using this University-wide license! The educational teaching development center (ETDC) has been working on code that will be shared later this month for desktop Qualtrics users that will allow for greater customization of the overall look of surveys to improve the instructional survey experience.

In December, ETDC also partnered with Cailee Welch Bacon, PhD, ATC, associate professor of athletic training, to run an Elite Train the Trainer event on the Arizona campus, as part of their Arizona Spark Tank grant. They worked with faculty to improve the instructional uses of Qualtrics within educational environments and train faculty. Some innovative projects that resulted from this program include a pre-clinic interactive training module, a three-part series preparing students for traveling abroad for medical residencies, and a series of engaging and interactive lecture modules that track student retention and offer immediate remediation. If you are interested, we’d love to put you in contact with your college or
school’s trained expert.

Kirsty Gaither, MA, MLIS, ETDC director, also presented at this year’s Qualtrics X4 conference, along with Dr. Welch Bacon and Brittany Williams, MS, instructional designer from the Teaching & Learning Center on driving campus-wide adoption of new educational technology platforms.
