A.T. Still University appoints its first-ever director of diversity

A.T. Still University’s (ATSU) President Craig Phelps, DO, ’84, has announced the appointment of the University’s first director of diversity. Clinton Normore, MBA, will serve in a strategic role through collaboration in assessing, promoting, and increasing diversity and diversity of service among the University’s students and workforce. Additionally, Normore will work with key leadership to collaboratively develop and oversee a comprehensive plan to implement diversity goals to support ATSU’s mission and vision.
Since 2005, Normore served as director of multicultural student affairs at Oklahoma City University. During his tenure, he established a robust program from the ground up, including two highly successful scholarship programs – the American Indian and Clara Luper Scholarships. Normore has notable teaching and presentation experience in the area of diversity and cultural proficiency, as well as involvement in diversity organizations at the state and national levels.
“Normore’s experience as a leader in promoting diversity, inclusion, cultural awareness, and cultural proficiency will prove to be a strong asset to ATSU,” said President Phelps. “His leadership will strengthen existing University-wide diversity objectives, impacting not only students, faculty and staff, but ultimately and most importantly, the patients ATSU graduates will serve.”
ATSU is committed to continued progress in the area of diversity, with the Board of Trustees designating it as one of the University’s primary strategic initiatives.
