AT faculty and alumni shine at NATA conference

Several ATSU-ASHS athletic training faculty and alumni made presentations and received awards at the National Athletic Trainers’ Association’s (NATA) annual meeting in San Antonio, TX, held June 17-20.

Associate Professor, Interdisciplinary Health Sciences, Alison Snyder, Ph.D., ATC, was awarded the Clint Thompson Award for Clinical Advancement by the Journal of Athletic Training. Associate Professor, Interdisciplinary Health Sciences, Tamara McLeod, Ph.D., ATC, was second runner-up for the same award. Patrick McKeon, Ph.D., ATC, CSCS, ’01, was recognized with the NATA Foundation Doctoral Dissertation Award.

ASHS’ AT alumni presenting at the meeting included Tomo Tanabe, M.S., ’09; Matt Kuehl, M.S.,’09; Bart Anderson, M.S., ’03; Meganne Gourley, M.S., ’08; Sarah Piebes, M.S., ’08; April Jessee, M.S., ’08; and Liz Nosbisch, M.S., ’08. Faculty presenters included Curt Bay, Ph.D.; Jackie Kingma, M.S., ATC, PA-C, PT; Tamara McLeod, Ph.D.; John Parsons, M.S., ATC, AT/L; and Eric Sauers, Ph.D., ATC.

Approximately 80 ASHS athletic training alumni along with spouses and friends attended the annual alumni gathering at Dick’s Last Resort Restaurant on the Riverwalk in San Antonio.
