ATSU Board of Trustee member retires from military

A.T. Still University Board of Trustee member, James D. Cannon, DHA, PA-C, MS ’97, recently announced his retirement from the military after 31 years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard. Dr. Cannon currently serves as associate professor for A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) and as a primary care and psychiatric certified physician assistant. He also served as chairman of the board of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants where he served as director at large for eight years.

Dr. Cannon is also involved with several professional groups including the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Virginia Association of Physician Assistants, and Association of Physician Assistants in Psychiatry. A retirement ceremony was held at the MacArthur Memorial Theater in Norfolk, Virginia in honor of Dr. Cannon. ATSU-ASHS Dean Randy Danielsen, PhD, PA, DFAAPA, attended the ceremony on behalf of ATSU. Congratulations to Dr. Cannon!
