ATSU-KCOM holds Doctor Bag event

This month, the Sigma Sigma Phi Honorary Service Fraternity at A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) held its annual Doctor Bag event. The event, held at a local elementary school, focuses on preparing children for a doctor’s visit. ATSU-KCOM students teach children what a doctor does, so they know what to expect during their next visit.
ATSU-KCOM students spend 30-45 minutes with the children, teaching them as much about medicine as possible. Not only does this event offer medical students experience working with children, it also helps children feel less anxious about going to the doctor.
