ATSU-KCOM students take top honors at ACOFP event

Jessica Lapinski, OMS III

A.T. Still University-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine students, Jessica Lapinski, OMS III, and Lynn (Riester) Messersmith, OMS III, attended the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) 52nd Annual Convention & Scientific Seminars in Las Vegas. The students presented at the event, and both took home honors. Messersmith presented on the role of breast MRI in a rural teaching facility and won second place. Lapinski’s presentation on burnout, depression, and stressors in osteopathic medical students won first place.

The ACOFP was founded in 1950 and represents more than 20,000 practicing osteopathic family physicians, residents, and students throughout the United States.
