ASHS faculty contribute to first pharmacology text for professional audiologists

MESA, Ariz. (Nov. 8, 2006 ) – Three faculty members from ATSU’s Arizona School of Health Sciences have co-authored a chapter in a soon-to-be-published audiology text, “Pharmacology and Ototoxicity for Audiologists.” The chapter deals with the use of drugs in the treatment of disease and individual variations in patient-drug responsiveness.

Tabitha Parent-Buck, Au.D., chair of audiology; Henry Trahan, Au.D., assistant professor of audiology; and O.T. Wendel, Ph.D., associate provost of the ATSU-Mesa campus, covered patient age, diet, compliance with prescribed regimen, and genetics and the significant differences in how individuals respond to drugs.
