ATSU-MOSDOH welcomes class of 2025 with White Coat Ceremony

A.T. Still University’s Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) welcomed the class of 2025 with a White Coat Ceremony on Friday, July 9, 2021.

ATSU-MOSDOH’s class of 2025 consists of 63 students, selected from a pool of 1,609 applications. Students represent 22 states, with 15 from Missouri, 10 from Texas, six from both Arkansas and Illinois, four from Florida, and three from Wisconsin.

“Our dental education program will be challenging, but it will be well worth the journey. It will be a journey filled with excitement, emotions, disappointments, achievements, transformations, life-long relationships, accomplishments, and the most rewarding, successful completion of the academic program at the close of four years,” said Dwight McLeod, DDS, MS, ATSU-MOSDOH dean and professor.

Students recited the “Oath to the Profession” and received their first white coat, symbolizing their commitment and responsibility to their profession and future patients.

Destiny Mills, D2, vice president of the class of 2024, provided the ceremonial key transfer to Ashley Ingram, D1, representing the class of 2025.

“These next four years at ATSU-MOSDOH will put you into territory you’ve never experienced before,” Mills said. “The courses you take here and the lessons the faculty will teach you are meant to challenge you, to make you think outside the box, to make you into a well-rounded dentist; one who cares not only about the tooth they are working on, but the person who is attached to that tooth.”
