ATSU to recognize community leaders

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. (Jan. 5, 2008) – It’s time to submit your nomination for this years Still Spirit Award nominees. They are individuals within our community – young and old alike – who give unselfishly of their time and talent to make a difference in the lives of others. They are role models who advance community well-being through professional, personal, and service affiliations. They are people of action who recognize obstacles, yet find opportunities. They are innovative, creative, and passionate do-ers. They deserve your recognition through A.T. Still University’s Still Spirit Awards.

You are invited to nominate members of our community who best personify the compassion, integrity, and spirit of ATSU’s founder, Andrew Taylor Still, M.D., D.O., and who help our community grow and prosper through exemplary leadership and the spirit of volunteerism.

Submit your nominations at www.atsu.edu/spirit. All nominations must be accompanied by a statement of support for each nominee describing the significance of their role and their impact within our community. Four recipients will be selected from submitted nominations. The Selection Committee will evaluate and select recipients based on the examples and details provided in each statement of support. ATSU employees and prior Still Spirit Award recipients are not eligible for nomination. The nomination deadline is 5 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008.

The Still Spirit Awards Reception & Ceremony will be held Friday, April 4, 2008, at ATSU’s Connell Information Technologies Center in the Blumenthal Clinical/Osteopathic Skills Lab from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend this special event. The cost to attend is $20 per person or $30 per couple. Hors d’oeuvres and dessert will be served.
