Arizona Campus celebrates campaign success

ATSU’s Arizona Campus celebrated a successful 2009 faculty and staff campaign with a barbeque lunch April 29 in the south parking lot of building H. ATSU Provost Craig M. Phelps, D.O., ’81; Associate Provost Ted Wendel, Ph.D.; and Assistant Provost and SOMA Assistant Dean Gary Cloud, Ph.D., showed their appreciation to more than 100 ATSU employees by serving up ice cream sundaes following the meal.

“Celebrating the success of the faculty and staff campaign was a great way to look ahead to what comes next,” said Kimberly Hopely, senior director of development for institutional advancement. According to Hopely, more than 25 faculty and staff from ASDOH, SOMA, ASHS, and other ATSU departments have volunteered to meet and examine how employee reinvestment in future campaigns can have an even greater impact on the Arizona Campus.

“There is enthusiasm around setting goals that speak to what the faculty and staff wants to accomplish – not to mention some extremely creative ideas for raising the fun factor,” she continued.

The 2009 faculty and staff campaign raised $100,000, with 76 percent of Arizona Campus full-time employees participating.
