Biggest Loser winner to speak at Still Healthy seminar

John Rhode, winner of The Biggest Loser, will be on the ATSU Mesa campus on Nov. 1 to present “Strengthening from within: Strategies for success.”  Rhode will discuss strategies for successfully achieving goals in health, fitness, and life. The presentation, which will be held in Saguaro A & B from noon to 1 p.m., is part of the ATSU Still Healthy seminar series, and attendees will receive one Still Healthy seminar credit.

Also, this Still Healthy seminar is being presented to help raise funds for an Eagle Scout project being coordinated by Chandler Cottam, son of Wayne Cottam, DMD, MS, associate dean of community partnerships, ASDOH, and vice dean, MOSDOH. Chandler’s project is to install a quarter-mile paved fitness path for House of Refuge, a nonprofit organization in Mesa, Ariz., assisting individuals and families in their transition out of homelessness.

Both Chandler and representatives from House of Refuge will be at the seminar to answer questions about the project and the organization. Voluntary donations can be made at the seminar or to Dr. Cottam. More information about House of Refuge can be found on their website: http://houseofrefuge.org.
