Biochemistry professor advances cancer research
Posted: July 2, 2009ATSU-KCOM Biochemistry Assistant Professor James Cox, Ph.D., recently shared details from a two-year research project that shows that the anti-obesity drug Orlistat, known as Alli, the only FDA approved over-the-counter weight loss product, decreases the development of gastrointestinal cancer in mice.
The research was done in conjunction with biochemistry professor Richard Cenedella, Ph.D., and graduate study student Shawn Dowling.
