Curbside pickup for A.T. Still Memorial Library’s Kirksville campus location

The Kirksville campus location of the A.T. Still Memorial Library is pleased to announce curbside pickup of print books. Beginning this week, we will be offering the first of two print book services: lending of ATSU-owned print books.

The library will handle all circulating books following American Library Association recommendations. Find more information about how we’re keeping your books safe for you at the Kirksville campus curbside pickup guide.

How to borrow a book using curbside pickup

  1. Find books in theATSU Library Catalog (or later, the MOBIUS catalog)
  2. Request books either via email, by using our interlibrary loan form, or via your personal library account
  3. Wait for an email from the library
  4. Visit the Kirksville campus Commons to pick up your requests
  5. Your books will be waiting on a table inside of a square just for you – please do not touch any other books on the table
  6. Return the books to the Commons area book drop next to the pickup table

Borrowing rules

  1. Four-week loans of most books
  2. Reserve books may be borrowed for one week if the library has a second or e-book copy
    1. If you prefer or the library only has a single copy of a reserve book, you may request a scan of a chapter via email

Overdue & lost items

The library is no longer charging daily fines for overdue items. It will instead charge replacement costs plus a $20 processing fee for lost items. Borrowers will not be able to borrow any more items until they either return or pay for the lost books.

Books will be considered lost at six weeks overdue for typical books, and three weeks overdue for reserve books.

Borrowers may either return the lost book to have their replacement charges vacated, pay the replacement cost plus a $20 processing fee, or provide the library with a new or gently used copy of the book. If you provide a copy of the lost book, the library will waive the $20 processing fee.

MOBIUS interlibrary loans update

As soon as possible, we will also resume MOBIUS interlibrary loan borrowing of print books. This service gives the Kirksville campus free access to books from a consortium of 78 public and academic libraries, at no cost to you. We will announce its return via email once it is available. If you currently have MOBIUS books on loan, please return them to our Commons area book drop as soon as you are able.
