Dr. Danielsen instructs fellow educators as Senior Consultant for Academy for Academic Leadership

Randy Danielsen, PhD, PA, DFAAPA, dean, ATSU-ASHS, served as one of three instructors for the 2016 Academy for Academic Leadership (AAL) Compass Program for Academic Advancement online training course in September.
Dr. Danielsen’s course was on medical publishing, and included how to choose a journal, audience, and topics for publishing. Dr. Danielsen has published over 17 peer-reviewed articles, 30 journal editorials, five book chapters, and co-authored “The Preceptor’s Handbook for Supervising Physician Assistants.”
The 2016 Compass Program for Academic Advancement was attended online by nearly 60 interprofessional mid-career academic faculty from institutions around the world. This was the fifth year the program was offered through AAL.
“The Compass Program is hosted by a cadre of experience leaders in health professions education,” Dr. Danielsen explained. “The program provides a safe place for new faculty or those who want to move into academia, enabling them to discuss important scholarly activities.”
Dr. Danielsen has been a senior consultant with AAL since 2012, after being nominated by ATSU Board of Trustees member Clyde H. Evans, PhD, who is also a senior consultant with AAL.
