Gassman appointed to AOA COCA Standards Task Force

Jenna Gassman, OMS III, ATSU-KCOM, will serve as student representative on the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) Standards Task Force.

On Sept. 15, Gassman was appointed to the task force by Jamie Beckman, OMS III, Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, chair of the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents (COSGP). As part of her position, Gassman will work alongside deans of osteopathic medical schools, practicing physicians, and other leaders within the AOA. The committee meets twice a week to discuss accreditation standards of osteopathic medical schools.

“It was an honor to serve on A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine Student Government Association the past couple of years in addition to being a general council member of COSGP,” says Gassman. “I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to represent medical students on a national level with the AOA COCA Standards Task Force. It is my hope to contribute a meaningful student perspective.”
