New associate dean, new programs part of growth at ATSU

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. (July 12, 2006 ) – A.T. Still University recently announced the appointment of Elsie Gaber, Ph.D., as associate dean with ATSU’s online School of Health Management (ATSU-SHM). For the last three years, Gaber has served as the associate vice president for university relations at ATSU.

Now in its seventh year, ATSU-SHM has experienced continued growth both in the number of students and the programs offered. Jon Persavich, Ph.D., dean of ATSU-SHM, said adding the talent and experience of Dr. Gaber will continue to fuel that growth.

“Elsie has a long history with ATSU, is committed to its mission and values, and has a passion for education,” Dr. Persavich said. “She joins a talented team of individuals, including associate deans Kimberley O’Reilly and Keith Nordmann.”

The new team will also oversee a growing number of program offerings. In addition to master’s degrees in public health, health management, and geriatric health, prospective students will also be able to choose a master’s degree in health education.

“I’m excited about the future of online education at ATSU,” Gaber said. “I’m joining an incredible team and I hope to contribute to their continued success.”

ATSU-SHM educates and prepares current and future health professionals for management positions in a variety of healthcare settings. The goal of the school is to provide comprehensive and relevant health management instruction through high quality, innovative, online education.
