OT faculty and alums present at ArizOTA conference

Their presentation, “International service learning: The impact on student cultural competency,” provided an update on the Guatemala Service Learning project involving Dr. Clark, 18 OT students, and an ATSU alumna. The Guatemala service team received the 2014 ArizOTA research grant for their work on this project.

The presentation highlighted the project’s preliminary research findings, utilization of grant funds, the former students’ perception of knowledge gained, and the impact the project had on their personal and professional lives.

The team would like to extend a special thanks to co-investigator Curt Bay, PhD, professor, interdisciplinary sciences, and Jane Hawthorne, university data manager, assessment & accreditation, for their assistance with data collection and analysis.
