Portable OMM table lending to groups in Kirksville

December 4, 2020
Posted In: AT Still Library News, AT Still Memorial Library, KCOM, Missouri Campus

The A.T. Still Memorial Library and A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) worked together to acquire new portable osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) tables to be available to loan one to each eight-person batch group.

The library owns and loans out portable OMM tables in more typical times to individuals, as well as providing access to permanent tables for practice in the library space itself, but the numbers were not large enough to provide access to all students without physical access to the library. In order to ensure equitable access to tables for all first and second years in ATSU-KCOM, the College and the library together purchased an additional 23 tables.

This means that every batch in their first and second years can have a table to share for the entire term. Groups can borrow tables right now, which will then be due back Dec. 20. In the spring, tables will be able to be borrowed again when students return to campus after the break and quarantine period and will not be due back until early June.

How this works:

  1. Each batch identifies one student leader and marks their name on the OMM table spreadsheet
  2. Every member of the group is equally responsible for the table, but the leader will have it officially on their library record
  3. This leader makes an appointment with the library via our calendar on the OMM table page on the OMM guide
  4. The leader comes to the library’s front door in the Connell Information Technology Center
  5. The leader takes the table away and the group manages its use amongst themselves
  6. At the end of term, someone from the group makes an appointment to return the table to the same location

For more information, please see the portable OMM table page at the bottom left menu on the library’s OMM guide.

  1. Debra Loguda-Summers says:

The due date to return tables to the library is December 17th, not the 20th.
