Dr. Wendel reported that a number of faculty and staff have been recruited and enrollment continues to increase. “There are also now 15 degree programs available at ATSU, and we continue to grow our curriculum,” he said.
During the presentation, Dr. Phelps acknowledged faculty achievements from SOMA, ASDOH, and ASHS, including publications and leadership in professional organizations. Two special awards were presented by ASHS Dean Randy Danielson, PhD, PA-C. Alison Snyder, Ph.D., ATC, received ASHS Scholar of the Year Award and Tamara McCloud, Ph.D., received the Educator of the Year Award.
Other highlights included ATSU’s presence and impact on other organizations in the Arizona Health and Technology Park. In the past year, HealthSouth East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital and the East Valley Family YMCA have opened on campus. “As we continue to grow, there will continue to be challenges and opportunities for us to collaborate on and make an impact in our community,” said Dr. Phelps.
