Remembering Dr. Sebanc

Last month, A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) lost a beloved adjunct professor, John Sebanc, DDS, MS. Dr. Sebanc had been involved in ATSU-ASDOH’s orthodontics program for more than a decade. He will be deeply missed by students, faculty, and staff.

“Dr. Sebanc really enjoyed coming to the school on Wednesdays,” says Jae Hyun Park, DMD, MSD, MS, PhD, chair of ATSU-ASDOH postgraduate orthodontic program. “He was liked by residents and staff members very much. He was a great educator, clinician, and human being. We will miss him very much.”

Jessica Stromme, D1, says Dr. Sebanc was more than a teacher; he was a mentor. “He gave fantastic advice, both personal and professional,” she says. “While he had many pearls of wisdom, I think the bottom line was always treat people right, do the right thing, and everything will fall into place. I feel truly honored to have worked alongside him. I am a much better doctor and person for having known him.”

Those who knew Dr. Sebanc, know that ATSU-ASDOH’s orthodontic clinic was near and dear to his heart. A fund has been set up in Dr. Sebanc’s memory to support patient services in the orthodontic clinic. To make a contribution online, follow the instructions below.
