Students unite for Free Community Health & Wellness Day

A.T. Still University, in partnership with Adelante Healthcare, celebrated its Free Community Health & Wellness Day event — a day where Arizona campus programs work in a collaborative environment to offer healthcare services to the community. Approximately 80 members of the community attended, many of whom said they rely on the event as their healthcare safety net. Dental screenings and sealants, general medicine screenings, hearing and balance testing, and proper helmet and backpack fittings, were a few of the services offered to members of the community. Students gained other valuable experience by meeting patients from different backgrounds, addressing concerns, and providing referral resources. The event featured kid-friendly activities and games, and a special visit from area partners including the Arizona Coyotes and Mesa Fire and Medical Department.
