Thornton recognized for outstanding community service

Yvette Thornton, RDH, BS, participation coordinator for A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH), has received the Maricopa County Oral Health Leaders Advocates and Resources (MOLAR) Member of the Month Award for March 2013.
Active in MOLAR since 2011, Thornton’s many responsibilities include coordinating ATSU-ASDOH’s “Dentistry in the Community” and “Smiles Across Pinal County” programs which provide students the opportunity to participate in community service learning events. Thornton uses MOLAR and the connections she makes at coalition meetings to create these service opportunities by reaching out to the populations in most need of dental care. Through her work, she consistently upholds MOLAR’s mission, vision and values.
